AP × Swatch Royal Pop – Orenji Hachi (SSX03L103N)

Orenji Hachi — Japanese for orange eight — is the darkest and most restrained of the six Lépine models in the Audemars Piguet × Swatch Royal Pop collection. Despite the name, the watch is overwhelmingly navy: case, bezel, crown and tapisserie dial are all deep navy Bioceramic. The orange is the accent, not the body.

It appears in exactly four places — the eight hexagonal bezel screws, the hour markers, the hands, and the stitching on the navy calfskin lanyard. That restraint is the point. Against the navy the orange reads as deliberate signalling rather than decoration, which is why this ends up one of the most distinctive pieces in the collection while also being the quietest.

It is not a wristwatch. The Royal Pop is a pocket watch, worn around the neck on the supplied lanyard, clipped to a bag, kept in a pocket, or stood on a desk. The collection launched in May 2026 and sold out through in-store queues worldwide.

The movement is the story

Inside is the first ever hand-wound SISTEM51. Every previous SISTEM51, MoonSwatch included, was automatic. It carries 15 active patents, an anti-magnetic Nivachron balance spring developed with Audemars Piguet, and over 90 hours of power reserve. The bridges are decorated with a pop art motif in digital UV print — here in matching navy and orange — visible through the sapphire display back. The barrel drum is itself patented and doubles as a power reserve indicator: grey chambers expose the mainspring coils and mean it needs winding, gold means it is full.
