AP × Swatch Royal Pop – Ocho Negro (SSX03W101N)

Ocho Negro — Spanish for eight black — is the monochrome entry in the Audemars Piguet × Swatch Royal Pop collection. A black Bioceramic case and holder carry a white octagonal bezel, with a black tapisserie dial, black crown and eight black hexagonal screws set into the white bezel. It is the strongest contrast in the collection and the only one that reads as restrained.

Where Otg Roz and Huit Blanc go loud, this is the piece for someone who wants the Royal Oak silhouette without the pop art palette. The white bezel against black is the whole design: no second accent colour anywhere.

It is not a wristwatch. The Royal Pop is a pocket watch, worn around the neck on the supplied calfskin lanyard, clipped to a bag, kept in a pocket, or stood on a desk. The collection launched in May 2026 and sold out through in-store queues worldwide.

The movement is the story

Inside is the first ever hand-wound SISTEM51. Every previous SISTEM51, MoonSwatch included, was automatic. It carries 15 active patents, an anti-magnetic Nivachron balance spring developed with Audemars Piguet, and over 90 hours of power reserve. The bridges are decorated with a pop art motif in digital UV print, visible through the sapphire display back. The barrel drum is itself patented and doubles as a power reserve indicator: grey chambers expose the mainspring coils and mean it needs winding, gold means it is full.
